Betty Jo Sapp, of Greenville, Kentucky, died Saturday, October 28, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born July 19
Betty Jo Sapp, of Greenville, Kentucky, died Saturday, October 28, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born July 19, 1935, in Muhlenberg County the daughter of Charlie Saddler and Ida Bell McGehee Saddler. She was a charter member of Leigh’s Chapel General Baptist Church. She loved to sew, cook and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed her role as a homemaker and loved to play Rummy and Dominos with her special friend Ann Winn. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters Carolyn Dennis and Cynthia Norton, and she is the last of three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years Gene “Papaw” Sapp of Greenville; one son Tim (Cindy) Sapp of Greenville; one daughter Joyce (Stephen) Hodges of Ringgold, Ga.; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; special friends Jerry and Ann Winn. She was the grandmother of Amy Trimble and great-grandmother to Colton Trimble.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Leigh’s Chapel General Baptist Church in Greenville with Bro. Roger Wright officiating, assisted by Bro. Tony Shanks. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery in Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 1 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Leigh’s Chapel General Baptist Church and Thursday, November 2 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral. Pall Bearers: Isome Sapp, Kyler Sapp, Philip Trimble, Colton Trimble, Michael Gardner, Troy Gardner, Kevin Johnson and Jerry Winn.
