WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, led by Chairman John Boozman (R-AR), has voted to advance two key USDA nominations. Judge Stephen Vaden has been approved to serve as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, while Tyler Clarkson has been advanced to become the department’s General Counsel.
Chairman Boozman emphasized the importance of the move, stating: “This is a critical step to ensure USDA has the leadership needed to carry out the president’s vision for supporting farm families, ranchers, and rural communities. Swift Senate confirmation of Judge Vaden and Mr. Clarkson will help strengthen USDA’s mission on behalf of America’s hardworking producers.”
